World news is the general term for a type of journalism focusing on international news. World news is usually delivered by foreign correspondents, and can also include information gathered or researched through distance communication technologies like telephone, satellite TV and the Internet. Correspondents are often based in the capital city of a country or region, and they may be in direct contact with local government officials, members of the community or other local news media.
In addition to political satire about current and past presidents, WWN also reported on lost relics of the Bible and other religious texts and historical events. Some of the more popular stories involved alien abductions, the Loch Ness monster and Bigfoot. The tabloid even reported on interviews with the ghosts of President George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, who were alleged to be women.
Other WWN news included reports about mermaids and mermen, and the existence of other supernatural creatures. A famous story in 2004 detailed a mermaid that was caught in a fishing net off the coast of Florida, and reportedly was at least half human and able to communicate with humans using a language that sounded like clicks and hand movements.
In later years, a stock character who appeared in WWN was a half-bat half-boy called P’Lod, an alien who became involved with Earth politics and was known to fraternize with female members of the government, including Hillary Clinton. P’Lod was also known to express a particular interest in Condoleezza Rice.
